When Netflix not Working on Your Roku? Sometimes apps like Netflix not working without any problems. There are many reasons for this to happen and it is not always easy to pinpoint that reason. However, we do not need to cover that. If you’re using a Roku for your entertainment, here are some ways to turn your Netflix back on when it suddenly stops working.
Check network settings
Believe it or not, this is the most common reason. Your network connection may have been lost in your Roku now. In this case, you can check your network settings
- On the home screen, scroll down and go to Settings from the menu.
- Scroll down and open the network option to see if the Roku TV, streaming stick or set-top box is still connected.
- If it is, then you click on Check Connection to check your network connection.
If all of the Roku items look fine, check your router and make sure it is connected? Depending on the Roku device, it may benefit from attempting to make a wired switch with a wired cable from a wireless connection. Roku’s support page contains a list of error codes that help you pinpoint your connectivity problems.Also, you can check your internet, but leave it as a last resort.
Check the updates
After a while, the app can start working if the software hasn’t been updated in a while. Sometimes developers make changes to back end changes that require a front-end update to make them work, otherwise, they will stall. Simply updating your apps will help ensure that they continue to work flawlessly.
Roku typically checks for updates whenever Netflix is turned on, or every 24-36 hours. You can manually check for updates to the app.
- On the home screen, scroll down and go to the Settings menu.
- Scroll down and select the system option.
- Then click on Software Update
- Finally, go to the Check Now option it will check both Roku system update and Netflix app update.
Have you turned your device on and off again? No, it works more often than not. Unplug your roku for at least 10 seconds and give it a little rest. Plug it back in and turn on the device. Wait at least a minute before going back to Netflix.
Check Netflix account
If videos are not playing in the app, the problem may be caused by your Netflix account. Check the account to make sure that your subscription is done correctly. If you have recently changed your credit card, you may need to update it.
